Our 38th season has been a particularly memorable one so far. Our November concert brought the radical sounds of Missa Gaia to our audiences, and a record audience (including many new faces) enjoyed a varied and unusual program of exciting and innovative choral music. This performance opened what is proving to be one of our best seasons yet, with a remarkable variety of musical styles.
February 10 brings a special extra concert, where the beautiful voices of the women members of ACS will be showcased in a stunning concert of music from the Baroque and early Classical periods. Pergolesi's magnificent Stabat Mater will be featured, coupled with the irrepressibly joyful Lauda Sion of Cherubini. Our newly appointed keyboard artist, Paul Stetsenko, will perform the F minor Keyboard Concert of J. S. Bach to round out this special program.
In March, we're thrilled to be joining the Alexandria Symphony together with Bowen Macaulay Dance, for a tremendously imaginative program designed to stimulate both sound and sight.
In April, the Children's Chorus will take you on an exhilarating tour of the Opera Houses of Europe in April; and to round off the season, the May concert will feature the Adult Chorus together with jazz trio for an exciting choral jazz experience.
If you've never been to an ACS concert before, I invite you to come and experience what makes this group so special.
If you're an old friend, then I invite you most warmly to return this season, and to bring your friends and family too!
I look forward to seeing you!
