Greetings, and welcome to our choral family! The Alexandria Choral Society Children's Chorus (ACSCC) celebrates its 9th year
in stunning fashion. Our season of exciting and innovative choral music is sure to please you and yours.
December is a busy time for all of us and this year is definitely no exception. We open our season at the historic
Willard Intercontential Hotel on December 3rd as part of the famous, holiday lobbying series. Did you know that the term Lobbying was
coined at the Willard? Ask us why and join us for some mulled cider, fresh cookies and sounds of the season from the premier children's
chorus of Alexandria.
We join the adult chorus and the Aldersgate Church Choir in presenting the
9th annual Christmas Concert on
Saturday, December 13, 2008 and Sunday, December 14, 2008 at
Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria. The children will present works by John Rutter, Ruth Watson Henderson, Allen Koepke
and others.
We are honored to accept the title of feature choir at Home for the Holidays: Christmas at the Homestead. We will be
traveling to this grand resort to entertain folks on Christmas Eve.
The second half of our season is equally thrilling. February 24th is a concert performance at the Gaylord Hotel where we will entertain over 1,400
friends at a national convention. We will be showcasing some stunning music from our repertoire.
In April, the Children's Chorus will take you on an exhilarating tour of On Broadway with works from Phantom of the Opera,
Beauty and the Beast, Gigi, and many other pieces that were made famous on stage in New York City, New York. Get Excited!
In June, we're thrilled to be joining the TC Williams High School Choir in addition to our adult chorus for a tremendously
imaginative concert called Fly Me to the Moon. The children's chorus will feature well known works all about flying and daydreaming on
Saturday, June 6, 2009 at TC Williams High School, Alexandria.
If you've never been to an ACS concert before, I invite you to come and experience what makes this group so special.
If you're an old friend, then I invite you most warmly to return this season, and to bring your friends and family too!
I look forward to seeing you!
