Janet Davis

Janet Davis earned her Master of Music in conducting at Westminster Choir College in 1983, and her Bachelor of Music
in Voice Performance at the University of Bridgeport in 1978. She has an extensive background in conducting both smaller and larger
choirs, including symphonic choirs, and her repertoire includes all of the major works. Ms. Davis' was formerly the Artisitic Director
for the Des Moines Choral Society, and her creativity and muscial ability earned her a stellar reputation as on eof the most gifted
conductors in the Midwest. Ms. Davis was awarded the Best Performing Artist Award for the State of Iowa in 2000, and debuted as a guest
conductor at Carnegie Hall in 2001. Ms. Davis is currently the Director of Music Ministries at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in
Alexandria, VA. Ms. Davis brings a wealth of experience and musical ability to the Alexandria Choral Society and we look forward to an
exciting 39th season under her tutelage.

Kevin Carr

Kevin Carr, Founding Director of the Alexandria Choral Society Children's Chorus, and an elementary school music educator is creating the opportunity for school aged children to excel in choral music. Mr. Carr is known for his many contributions to music education in the elementary school setting, where he combines musical skills with artistry to create an opportunity for beginning as well as experienced singers to express themselves through music.
As a conductor, he has prepared choruses for numerous performances. His groups have been guests at the White House, The National Gallery of Art, Willard Intercontinental Hotel, and various National Conferences. The Children’s Chorus has been featured on WTOP radio, News Channel 8, and Fox 5 News in Washington, D.C. His choirs have been invited guest performers at the Mr. Carr and his elementary chorus is featured in the Reuters International Video “Music and the Brain."

Sheila Epstein

Alexandria Choral Society Children's Chorus
Sheila Epstein resides in Fairfax Station, Virginia. She is President of Keyboard Music Studio, a private studio specializing in piano and double bass. Ms. Epstein has been in Northern Virginia since 1973, performing and teaching in a wide variety of venues. She performs regularly with the Mount Vernon Swing Band, the Dixieland Band and the Alexandria Choral Society Children's Chorus. She has played numerous musical shows both at the professional level and in Fairfax County public and private schools. Ms. Epstein also provides piano accompaniment for numerous singers, church choirs and instrumentalists in the area. She has performed with the Mount Vernon Chamber Orchestra, the Arlington Symphony Orchestra, the Georgetown University Symphony Orchestra and several public and private school orchestras. Ms. Epstein is a part president of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers' Association and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, the University of Buffalo, and Columbia University.
